Assessing Standard of Living with the 5 themes and Economics

It is important to know about standard of living because you need to know what countries are poor and which countries are not. If there are two countries and only one can get aided to have a better standard of living, then you need to know who needs it more. If you can not access and identify the standard of living of a country, than you might not know if they are struggling to meet their basic needs, if they’re struggling with health, wealth, or education.

Place can help analyze standard of living because place tells you what is it like when you get there, and if the country looks poor, than it might need help aiding it or it might not. Natural resources can help identify the standard of living of the country because if the countries doesn’t have a lot of natural resources they can’t produce goods to use or trade with to get money or survive.

5 themes of Geography

The five themes of geography help people better analyze the world by showing how other people interact. One example of interacting is by people communicating. Then, when people get ideas from others by communicating, they use those ideas to create new buildings, inventions, etc.
The most difficult theme of geography is regions because it is hard to identify sometimes what the human and physical characteristics. For example, if there is an everyday scene in a city, it is hard for me to separate the human features and physical features.

Map Title Reflection

I found the compass rose easiest because I know north, east, south, west well. I also found finding coordinates easy because I am good at math so the latitude and longitude was easy for me to find the location of somewhere. I struggled with map titles because I didn't know where everything was located on the map. I struggled with map scales as well because I didn't understand that the answer to the miles would not be exact and it should be reasonable so it will be close to the actual answer. Map skills are necessary because you need to find where places are. Map titles are necessary because you need to know what places are called. Compass Rose is important so you know the cardinal directions for a location. Coordinates are important so you know how many degrees north/south and how many degrees east/west the location is. And map scales are important so you can find the distance in miles from one location to another.
